Mackay Physiotherapy has been proudly serving the Mackay community for over 30 years. We support a range of local sports teams, including top level Basketball, Rugby Union and Junior Elite Soccer. At Mackay Physiotherapy we provide high-quality, hands on physiotherapy care to people from wide-ranging backgrounds and needs. Our on-site, fully equipped rehabilitation gym is available free of charge to our clients, with all programs designed and monitored by Physiotherapists. We provide Pilates classes in small groups twice per week,, and Hydrotherapy sessions across the road at the Memorial Pool. We also provide some Industrial Physiotherapy services including: • Functional Pre Employment Evaluations • WorkHab Functional Capacity Assessments • On-site Wellness programs

SAM PEEK Sam graduated in 1993 and has worked in a wide variety of positions throughout Australia and in the United Kingdom. He has 9 years experience as a physiotherapy practice owner, and particularly enjoys working in industrial physiotherapy, and with sports people. Sam spent 6 years working with a team including Occupational Physicians, psychologists and Occupational Therapists, seeing exclusively patients with long term back, neck and shoulder injuries. This work involved providing treatment, education and exercise programs, as well as worksite visits to assist in the return to work process. For 2 years he worked closely with an Amateur League AFL team in Adelaide, providing match day and training physiotherapy coverage as well as treating players for various sporting injuries. At Mackay Physiotherapy Sam provides most of the Industrial Physiotherapy services. He is also a licensed WorkHab International provider of Functional Capacity Assessments.
SHANNON PINNINGTON, Physiotherapist Shannon has worked as a physiotherapist throughout Queensland and also in London, England. After travelling and sight-seeing overseas she has returned to her home town Mackay and is looking forward to applying her knowledge and skills in her home town. Shannon is goal and outcome orientated and assesses each client individually to design a treatment approach best suited to their specific complaint. She provides a hands-on approach and offers clients self-management techniques to help prevent future episodes of pain. She has completed additional courses on the stability of the hip and pelvis, dry needling for musculoskeletal pain, clinical pilates, sports physiotherapy, foot biomechanics and orthotic prescription.
STEPH KERR, Physiotherapist After completing a Degree in Kinesiology in Canada, Steph moved to Australia to study Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. She keeps her knowledge current by completing additional courses such as Pilates, Sports Physiotherapy (Level 2), Lyn Watson’s Shoulder course (Level 1), Dry Needling and more. Using the latest manual skills and integrating her sports background with rehabilitation, Steph ensures treatments are “hands on” and exercise based. Steph also designs and instructs our Pilates classes at Mackay Physiotherapy.
YOUSUF SYED, Physiotherapist Yousuf has a positive “hands on” approach with an emphasis on exercise prescription. He has completed advanced studies in Headaches, Whiplash Associated Disorders, Muscle Energy Techniques & Clinical Pilates. Yousuf runs the Headache clinic at Mackay Physio. His detailed assessment techniques help to localize the cervical segment involved with the headache, and the gentle manual therapy techniques (no manipulation) resolve the headache quickly. CORAL HERVEY, Massage Therapist Coral is a skilled Remedial Massage practitioner and uses a range of techniques including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage and Lymphatic Drainage. She also has some additional training in the Horstmann Technique.
